THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: P C George has handed over a letter resigning his MLA post to Speaker N Shakthan. A decision on accepting his resignation will be taken after examining all the legal sides, Shakthan said. At the same time George said that his resignation is as per rules.
George, a six time MLA from Poonjar in Kottayam has submitted the resignation letter in his writing on the previous day of speaker's decision to avoid the disqualification.
Earlier, following the demand of KC (M), George was removed from the post of government chief whip after he openly challenged K M Mani, its leader and former Minister and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
