Thiruvananthapuram: transport minister antony had earlier announced his resignation that kerala transport corporation would allocate the site for liquor shops. the government plans to take over the land through bidding process and sell liquor legally. the minister had also made it clear that tc would take all avenues for non-ticket revenue. the high court had earlier directed that better facilities should be provided to those who come to buy liquor. it was against this backdrop that biju prabhakar, the tcmd, came up with a new idea.
but there is now a lot of criticism against the government's new idea. many have suggested that setting up liquor shops at places with tc bus stands will create security problems. congress leader bindu krishna has now come out with a scathing attack on the government's decision. bindu krishna's criticism came in a note shared by the local. bindu krishna asked if this was a new model of women's safety in kerala.
