Hand chopping case in Malappuram; 3 more held

Sunday, December 18, 2011: Three more persons have been taken into police custody today in connection with savage incident in which a youth’s hand was chopped off near Edavanna in Malappuram.
The arrested have been identified as Ummar, Suneer Babu and Khalid, police told. A gang of unidentified persons chopped off the right hand of a youth involved in several criminal cases near Edavanna on Friday morning.

The attack took place when Fayaz was being taken to the Manjeri Court in connection with the trail of a case. According to the police he was attacked as part of the enmity between two rival gangs.
