Thrissur Elite Hospital nurses on strike


Friday, December 23, 2011: The nurses of Elite Hospital under the banner of United Nurses Association here began an indefinite strike on Friday.
A rise in the minimum wage, removal of bonded labour, introduction of working in shifts and to reinstate the dismissed nurses are some of the demands raised by the striking nurses. More than 250 nurses are participating in the strike. More than 250 nurses are participating in the strike.
The nurses had earlier warned the management of a strike. Several meetings were held with the management and labour officer so as to arrive at an common understanding. The strike was imminent as all talks failed.

it is the same story in all hospitals..the management who goobles money in huge amount for treatment rests on ivory towers and look down upon the nurses to ground level and show their stinginess in pay.nurses to keep their mouth shut and surrender to this massive exploitation
