Monday, June 13, 2011: Minister of State for Environment and Forests Jairam Ramesh blamed the previous LDF Government for the delay in the Vizhinjam Project. Speaking to the mediapersons after holding talks with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, the Minister said that he has not played any politics on the project.
None of the ministers of the previous government had approached me for the project in the past one year. An environmental impact study will be conducted on the land acquired for the Vizhinjam Project and it will be completed in a year, the Minister added.
