Tuesday, August 16, 2011: A new committee with former Congress MLA T V Chandramohan as chairman today took over management of the famous Guruvayoor temple. Members of the panel are G Madhusudhnan Pillai, Thushar Vellapally, M Janardhanan, K Sivasankaran and N Raju. They were administered the oath of office by Devaswom Commissioner and Secretary Dr K Venu at the temple administration office here.
The committee was recently constituted by the Congress-led UDF Government. Apart from nominated members, Samuthiri Raja of the Samuthiri royal family and a representative of the ‘thanthri’ (high priest) family are permanent members of the temple managing committee.
