Revelations against Sudhakaran: Government forms new probe team

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government on Monday formed a new investigation team to probe the revelations made against K. Sudhakaran MP by his former car driver, Prasanth Babu.


The head of the investigation team is Thiruvananthapuram Range IG Sheikh Darvesh Saheb. SP Unniraja and CI Balakrishnan are also included in the team.


An investigation team was formed earlier with Thrissur IG Gopinath as head, but it was dispersed after the opposition alleged that Gopinath was appointed to sabotage the case.


Prasanth Babu, also a former block congress secretary, had said on June 30 that the MP had conspired to murder senior CPI (M) leader E.P. Jayarajan and had organized a bombing of a Kannur hotel in which one person was killed and an attack on a Press in Thalassery. He also said Sudhakaran used to hire hoodlums for such attacks.
