KANNUR: The speed of the collapse of the UDF will be high by the end of the local body polls, said CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Finance Minister K M Mani will resign by the end of the polls and the next day the chief minister will put in his papers, he said.
Talking to reporters after casting his vote in the district, he said the LDF won in 13 in the polls held in 14 districts in 2005. The present situation is favourable for the LDF. This election marks the beginning of a change in the state. The Aruvikkara bypolls favoured the UDF but that doesn’t mean it would favour them this time, he said.
The third front is now itself stillborn. SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan is a liability for the BJP. The poll result would be a tragedy for the third front, he said.
