THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the high court reference in the bar bribe case, there is no other option than resignation, the congress has informed Finance Minister K M Mani.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC chief V M Sudheeran and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala had informed Mani the stand of the party. However, Mani has refused to resign. I have not done anything wrong, and so there is no need for me to resign, he clarified.
Meantime, the other allied parties too demand Mani’s resignation. The Muslim League who took a soft approach the other day have changed their stand. The RSP opined that he should have resigned earlier.
Meantime, KPCC chief V M Sudheeran and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, talking to reporters after the talks held at the Cliff House said let’s wait and see whether he will resign. The present situation has been evaluated. When the media repeated the question on Mani’s resignation, Sudheeran said ‘wait and see’.
Chennithala said talks with allied parties are on. A decision will be taken after consulting with the UDF. When asked about Mani’s threat to withdraw support from the government, he said nothing like that will happen.
