Veekshanam comes down heavily on Mani

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Veekshanam, the mouthpiece of the Congress came come down heavily on Finance Minister K M Mani. The resignation of Mani in the bar bribe case is an inevitable thing, said the editorial of Veekshanam. Soon after court’s observations, the congress leaders had sought his resignation. The editorial said his resignation is not sought on the basis of the final verdict finding him guilty.

Personal ethics and political honesty are most important than finding truth in the observations of the vigilance court and high court. In the case of ordinary people, posts need not be shelved in the name of court observations. But, such benefits are not accountable for social activists. Instead, obligations have top priority. In that case, his resignation is inevitable for Mani’s noble posts and political future. The opinion of the congress, who always respects judiciary, in this issue has not changed. When there are references against those in the government, the procedure of the civilized and democratic society is to resign. There is no importance for lame excuses here, the editorial said.
