THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VS Achuthanandan has said if bar bribery case is probed in a proper manner, Chief Minister Oommen will also get trapped. “The chief minister had interfered in the case to save tainted Excise Minister K Babu and I shall approach court against the minister,” he said.
“Babu along with Mani had taken bribe. Babu took Rs 10 crore bribe. Out of that Rs 50 lakh was handed over to the minister at his office by Bar Hotel Association Working President Biju Ramesh, according to the latter’s deposition before the Magistrate as per Section 164 of IPC. I have given a letter to the Vigilance, asking it to conduct inquiry against Babu and if there is any delay in it, I shall move court. The CM is trying to protect Mani for fear that he may also get trapped. Chandy’s present attitude shows that he is a shameless person” he added.
