Yet another bribe allegation against Mani

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bar hotel association working president Biju Ramesh has come to the fore with yet another allegation against former minister K M Mani.The former minister had accepted a bribe of Rs 5 crore from flat builders before the budget, said Biju during an interview to a private channel. He said that he has the disc containing the sound track for accepting the money.

The vigilance had registered a case against Mani following the allegation that he accepted a bribe of Rs one crore from bar owners. However, the vigilance at the end of the investigation moved the court claiming that there is no evidence against him. The court rejected it and criticized the vigilance harshly. Following that, the vigilance approached the high court. However, the court harshly criticized Mani and in the wake of it, he had to resign. Soon after that, Biju turned against Excise Minister K Babu. He alleged that Rs one crore was handed over to him in two instalments at his office in the secretariat. This allegation had sparked a controversy.
