KOCHI: Police Complaints Authority chairman Justice K Narayana Kurup alleged lapses on the side of the police in handling the murder case of Jisha, a law student brutally raped and murdered in Perumbavoor. He blamed the police for being unprofessional in handling the case.
Justice said the police did not guard the crime scene. The autopsy was not video graphed. Permitting to cremate the body in a hurry was a wrong procedure. The police did not follow the rules to be followed in such cases of unnatural deaths.
The house was sealed only after five days of her death. After losing crucial evidences which could have been obtained in the initial stages of the probe, what investigation is being conducted now, asked Justice Kurup.
