Though we can say that terrorism has no religion, the fact remains that terrorism draws inspiration out of religions, opined Union Home Minister P Chidambaram here on Thursday.
He also said that while terrorism was mostly a transborder phenomenon in India till 2008, homegrown terrorism has also emerged which is even being taken out of the country now.
Inaugurating a seminar on ‘Threats of Terrorism - Impact of Development’ organised by the KPCC-sponsored Institute of Social Research and Action (ISRA) here on Thursday, he said that most of the terror groups are fundamentalist groups. With the advent of modern technology, terrorists are using internet to spread their radical beliefs and develop networks.
