1260 litres of spirit seized in Palakkad

Tuesday, June 26, 2012: The Excise Intelligence officials have seized 1260 litres of spirit smuggled in a mini lorry during a vehicle check in Palakkad here on Tuesday.
The seized spirit is estimated to be worth Rs 4 lakh, excise officials told. The spirit was hidden in the car in 42 cans of 32 litres each.
When the vehicle crew found that checking was going on they fled.
A case has been registered.
