Boy drowns
KATTAPPANA: A tenth standard student at the Government Higher Secondary School, Vazhathoppe, drowned while taking bath along with two of his friends. The Vazhathoppe police said that the boy Vazhathoppe Pallithazhath Shone, 16, slipped into a deeper portion of the river. Though his friends alerted the neighbours, they could not save him.

KOTTAYAM: T Hashir (13), son of Taha Mohammed of Kottarakkara while on a visit to his friend’s home at Kummanam met with a tragic accident when he was washed away by the surging waters of the Meenachil River on Wednesday morning.
