Engg student dies in accident

KOTTAYAM: An engineering student was killed after a vehicle of the KSTP fatally knocked him down at Vakathanam in the district. He has been identified as Nithin of Kannanchira. The vehicle knocked him down when he was crossing the road.

The vehicle soon fled without stopping. Though he was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved.

The vehicle was later taken  into custody.

NEYYATTINKARA: An engineering student was killed after his bike rammed on to a wall losing control. He has been identified as Amal Peter (22), son of Peter of Ernakulam and Raji. He was a final year computer science student of Sree Narayana College of Karakkonam.

The incident happened last night at 11.30 pm at the Pirayummoodu Junction in Neyyattinkara. He was staying in a rented house nearby along with some of his friends. The Neyyattinkara police said the incident happened when he went out to recharge his phone. He leaves behind his brother Alex. The body is kept at the Neyyattinkara General Hospital.

KOLLAM: An engineering student was killed when his car overturned after hitting a divider on the national highway at Madannada in the district. Others in the car escaped without any injuries.

The dead has been identified as Ajay Henry (23), son of Henry of Pattathanam. The accident happened last night in front of the MTM Hospital in Madannada.

The incident happened when Ajay was proceeding to Kollam from the capital city with his four friends. The car overturned after hitting a divider. Even though he was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved.

There is no facility to recognize the divider during night time in the place where many vehicles pass by. The dividers can be seen only when the vehicles come closer.

KOTTAYAM: An engineering student was killed after his bike collided with a lorry on the Chundacheri-Pravithanam Road at 8 am Friday morning. The dead has been identified as Jayaram, native of Ramapuram.  He was a second year food technology student of Engineering College.
