Tuesday, August 30, 2011: The land of looms, lores and Folklore - Kannur is all set to host a 20,000 square feet ‘Pookalam — likely to be the world’s largest floral carpet. Twenty tonnes of flowers will be used for the floral carpet, said MK Abdul Salam, one of the organisers of the event, told reporters. He said that the ‘pookalam’ would be set up on September 17 at Kannur Collectorate ground.
