Consensus arrived at Govt, Medical management talks

Sunday, August 28, o2011: The meeting held between the government and the Medical managements in cnnection with the admissions to MBBS course in self-financing medical colleges, has reached consensus on Saturday.



The meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has decided to increase the fees for 35 percent merit quota seats from Rs 4.5 lakhs to Rs 5.95 lakhs. However the managements had agreed to provide the reduced fees of Rs 1.38 lakh to 15 percent seats for the BPL students and students from low-income group.

 Wednesday, July 06, 2011: The meeting held between the government and the Medical managements on Tuesday in connection with the admissions to the MBBS course to the 11 colleges coming under the medical management associations, has reached consensus.
The medical management associations have decided to give away 50 percent seats to the government. The meeting has also decided to retain the present fee structure, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said. But the discussions with the Inter church council regarding the issue will continue, CM added.
