Obama blames growing demand in India

Washington: Blaming growing demand for oil in countries like China and India for rising gas prices, President Barack Obama has unveiled a plan to improve the fuel efficiency of US vehicles to 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025.

'For the last few months, gas prices have just been killing folks at the pump,' he told auto industry executives Friday at an event here announcing new auto fuel-economy standards beginning in 2017.
