Thursday, September 22, 2011: A 32 year old man has died of fever
near Ottappalam in Palakkad district on Thursday. The deceased has been
identified as Abdu hailing from Vaniyamkulam, sources said.
Spread of viral fever reported from many parts of Kerala is causing
concern as various types of viral infections, including leptospirosis,
have claimed at least 20 lives in the last one week.
The Health Department has stepped up preventive and curative measures
to contain the spread of spread of fever, mostly reported from the
northern districts.
