The arrest of Abu Jundal, one of the suspects in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, has confirmed that there was state support from across the border, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said here on Wednesday.
“He has confessed that he was in the control room at the time of the Mumbai strike,” Chidambaram told mediapersons, but maintained that nothing more could be divulged now and more details would be shared only with the courts.
India had been tracking Abu Jundal for nearly a year, he disclosed. “But it was under a pseudonym. We identified him. But the media did not,’’ he said.
Abu Jundal, 30, was arrested in New Delhi on June 21 after his deportation from Saudi Arabia.
