Seven years jail term for murder accused

MALAPPURAM: The court awarded life imprisonment to an accused in connection with the murder of a person over a dispute in serving salad in a hotel.

The accused identified as Thanzeer was sentenced to seven years in the murder case of Santhosh, native of Tirur. The Manjeri Additional Sessions Court slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

If he fails to pay the amount, he will have to undergo one more year in jail.
