THALIPARAMBU: The police Sunday arrested Govindan Namboodiri, a maths teacher of Perinthatta North ALP School for sexually abusing some students. He was arrested from Pariyaram Medical College. The DEO had suspended him yesterday.
K P Sreelatha, headmistress of the school and K U Sajitha, teacher in charge of the helpdesk, have also been suspended for not taking action against the teacher and for not informing the incident to the concerned officials even after receiving a complaint.
The complaint levelled stated that the teacher sexually abused the students during class time. When a child refused to go to school, the parent informed it to the in charge of the helpdesk K Sajitha. Other students too revealed about the incident. Sajitha without informing the child line hid the complaint. The incident came to light when a parent lodged a complaint directly to Payyanur AEO.
