KOZHIKODE: In order to save the UDF Government, a leadership change is needed, said P C George MLA. Somebody else should replace Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. The image of the government has been tainted, he said while talking to the media.

I was worn-out after reading Saritha’s letter, says George
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Whip P C George Tuesday said that he has read the letter of Saritha S Nair, main accused in the solar case. I was worn-out after reading the whole letter. My only prayer is not to reveal the contents of the letter. He opened his mind at the face to face programme with the students organized by the SFI at the University College in Thiruvananthapuram.

Mani will be in jail if he opens his mouth, says George
KOTTAYAM: Chief Whip P C George issued a threat against Kerala Congress (M) chairman K M Mani for his strict stand against the former. He has asked Mani to shut his mouth or else the minister will be in jail.
George said, “I am not saying anything more. I’ll reveal everything after Good Friday. What he has said is a bit cruel. I’ve not done anything without his consent. The allegation of Mani that I tried to destroy the UDF is not right. I was branded anti-UDF and it was the price I had to pay for obeying Mani's words. Hereafter, I will not pay heed to his words and will obey the UDF.”

Ganesh should resign after beaten up by lover’s husband, says George
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief whip P C George Sunday asked Minister K B Ganesh Kumar to resign from the cabinet after he was allegedly beaten up by his lover's husband.
George told reporters in Kottayam that he came to know on February 22 that the minister was beaten up by the woman's husband, but did not speak about it.
"This came as a news report in a vernacular newspaper today (Sunday), but it does not name the minister. The minister who got beaten up is Ganesh Kumar. I am naming him because I do not want to keep the other 19 ministers' names under a cloud. Ganesh should resign," said George.
According to the news report, the incident occurred at the official residence of the minister here.
Conversion to forest land: CBI should probe on bribe takers, says George
KOCHI: Government Chief Whip P C George said that CBI should also investigate on those officials of the forest department who took bribe from Tamil Nadu to convert Cherunelli estate in Nelliyampathy into reserve forest land.
Addressing the media, he alleged that certain persons from the film industry have also taken bribe from Tamil Nadu.
He said that according to the 1910 report of Survey of India, Cherunelli estate is a rubber estate which has also been registered with the Rubber Board in 1933.
He alleged that Tamil Nadu requires Nelliyampathy for its tiger reserve and hence it bribed the officials of the forest department to get the estate converted to forest land.
He added that a ‘cinema mafia’ has also backed Tamil Nadu in the move by taking bribe.
He alleged the forest department is against the building of a new dam in Mullaperiyar as it has accepted bribes from Tamil Nadu. He added that water is also smuggled through the forest and CBI should probe into all these issues.
Youths should be taken into confidence before raising pension age, says George
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A decision on raising the pension age will be taken only after taking into confidence the youths, said Chief Whip P C George. Talks will be held with youth organisations also.
The aim of the UDF government is to do things beneficial for the public. The Front and the government are not implementing a fascist dictatorship.
CPI (M) MLAs disobeyed VS, says George
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government Chief Whip P C George Tuesday alleged that opposition leader V S Achuthanandan was insulted by his own party members in the Kerala Assembly.
Talking to newspersons here, George said that none of the CPI (M) MLAs followed VS who walked out of the House saying that he and his party were boycotting the House in protest against the Government's inaction over a twin murder case. Even after VS left the House, the opposition MLAs, led by deputy opposition leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, remained in the House, shouting slogans.
It was evident that the LDF MLAs disobeyed the opposition leader. 'It is for VS to decide whether to continue as opposition leader after being humiliated by his own party MLAs,' he added.
