THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As per the latest figures of the animal husbandry department, there has been an increase in the number of stray dogs, said Minister K T Jaleel. Steps have been taken to sterilize these stray dogs, he told U R Pradeep in the assembly.
K C Joseph and P T Thomas was informed that the government has directed to execute biometric punching system in all departments to ensure timeliness of employees.
A N Shamseer was informed that 37, 644 houses have to be completed according to IAY Project in the state. Wayanad district tops with 5746 houses and least is Kollam with 579. 2704 houses are under construction, the minister said.

Dogs would be culled, no change in stand, says Jaleel
KOZHIKODE: Minister for Local Administration K T Jaleel said there is no change in their stand that dangerous dogs would be killed. The stand taken in the Supreme Court that stray dogs would not be killed was to avoid legal hurdles, he told reporters here.

The government had earlier stated that dangerous dogs would be killed. However, the government had to change that stand later.
