Jagathy ‘improving steadily’, says doctors


Wednesday, May 16, 2012: Veteran actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who suffered a severe accident a few months back, has started responding well to advanced neuro treatment and medicines, at the Vellore hospital.
The doctors at the hospital say that Sreekumar’s body has started responding and his brain is yet to respond. Jagathy is currently in semi-conscious state and he finds it difficult to identify known people.
Jagathy is likely to be in the hospital for a longer period as the right side of his body is partially paralysed. The doctors at the Vellore Medical College and Hospital are trying their best to cure the Mollywood legend.
Jagathy was injured in March, when the car he was travelling to Kodagu in Karnataka for the shoot of a new movie, rammed into a road median and overturned near Tenhippalam. He underwent an abdomen surgery, soon after the accident, to arrest internal bleeding.

 Saturday, April 7, 2012: The condition of veteran Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kozhikode for the serious injuries incurred in an accident, is reportedly doing better.
The ventilator support given to the actor is being removed, sources said.
Jagathy was showing signs of improvement until last Sunday, when he developed a fever. He was to be shifted to Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore on Monday, but the shifting was postponed.
He was also put on ventilator support, sources said. The decision to shift the actor to CMC Vellore was taken following the visit of doctors from Vellore, who assessed Jagathy ’s health condition on March 29.
Sources said that the actor will be shifted to Vellore only after the actor’s condition becomes stable.

 Thursday, April 05, 2012: Doctors treating well-known Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who was seriously injured in a road accident at Panambra on March 10, said that his overall condition had improved considerably.
As a part of the process of removing him from ventilator permanently, he was removed from ventilator support for a long time yesterday and was breathing on his own, but it was reconnected so as not to get him tired.
Doctors informed that Jagathy appeared to be suffering from slight fever and therefore his shifting to the CMC, Vellore, may be a little delayed.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012: Veteran Malayalam film actor Jagathy Sreekumar, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the serious injuries sustained in a car accident on March 10, appeared to be suffering from slight fever and therefore his shifting to the CMC, Vellore, may be a little delayed.
He was shifted to a room prior to preparations for being sent to CMC in an air ambulance. A three-member medical team from Christian Medical College hospital, Vellore, had examined him.
The team expressed satisfaction over the recovery the actor has made, sources at Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences said.
