KOCHI: A major conspiracy was hatched against Cardinal Mar George Alancherry, said the police. Police said a false document was concocted against Alancherry as part of it and many including priests have a role in it. It came to light after Adithyan, a native of Konduruthy in Ernakulam, was taken into custody.
Adithyan told police that it was Father Kallookaran who asked him to concoct the false document. He also told police that the document was directly forwarded to Father Paul Thelakad so that the name of priests will not be involved in the incident.
Police said there was a move from a section of the Sabha to trap Cardinal using Adithyan. With this, more priests will be questioned and if found guilty action will be taken against the accused.
Adithyan was taken into custody in connection with the land scam of Syro Malabar church. However, in the first phase of interrogation, he told that what he obtained was not a false document. But when he was questioned later the investigating team found that the false document was prepared in his computer. The police has seized the computer. The police after recording the arrest of Adithyan Sunday morning, produced him before the magistrate and was remanded.

Konni incident: Girls visited Bengaluru twice, says police
KONNI (PATHANAMTHITTA): IG Manoj Abraham Tuesday said the girls missing from Konni and later found dead on the railway track had visited Bengaluru twice. They first planned to go to Delhi from Chenganoor, but when they reached Mavelikkara, they got off after knowing they had caught a wrong train. They reached Ernakulam by bus and from there went to Bengaluru.
The bus and the train tickets taken by the three were in their hands and a fourth person had not accompanied them. After visiting the Botanical Garden in Bengaluru, they returned back to Kochi. The ticket for visiting the Garden was found in the bag. From Kochi, they went to Angamaly by bus and bought medicine for headache from a medical shop. They left for Bengaluru later and visited the Botanical Garden again, said Manoj Abraham.
The officer said, “I don’t think the girls were murdered. As a fourth person was not there, the fingers point to that. Money may have been raised after selling their ornaments. The tablet which they had is missing, they may have sold it. Police is of the conclusion that they may have committed suicide. Financial difficulties and family problems may have forced them to take the extreme step.”
Meantime, the identity card used for acquiring a SIM card is that of their neighbour Molly’s. The SIM card was taken without Molly’s knowledge. Only when police reached her house, she knew about it. She told police that she had not given her identify card.

Sunanda Pushkar was murdered, says police
NEW DELHI: In a sensational twist to the mysterious death of Shashi Tharoor MP’s wife Sunanda Pushkar, Delhi Police Tuesday registered a case of murder after a medical report said that her death was unnatural and was caused due to poisoning but nobody has been named as a suspect as yet.
Disclosing this, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi did not rule out questioning Tharoor, now a Congress MP and a former union minister.
It was not clear whether she had consumed the poison on her own or it was administered forcefully or by injection, he said.
Nearly a year after 51-year-old Sunanda was found dead in a luxury hotel here on January 17, Delhi Police filed the case of murder under section 302 of the IPC but no one has been named in the FIR.
"Nobody has been named in the case," Bassi told reporters in reply to questions.
Sunanda's death had created a sensation as it came hot on the heels of a bitter spat between the couple over the twitter over his alleged affair with Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar.
"On 29th December, the medical board of AIIMS has given us a report. The main thing they have informed us is that the death is unnatural and not natural. Secondly, it is due to poison that could have been taken orally given or injected and they have told us other things as well," Bassi said.
