CHENNAI: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Sunday said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa is recovering fast and will come back home very soon.
“Chief Minister is doing well, she is recovering very fast. She is healthy and will come home very soon,” AIADMK spokesperson C R Saraswathi told ANI.
Responding to Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi’s comment on Jayalalithaa health, Saraswathi said that no photo is required to prove the fact that Jayalalithaa was not well and is taking treatment, and added, that the DMK is just try to make it a political issue.
Karunanidhi on Friday urged the Tamil Nadu government to “put an end to rumours” regarding the health of Jayalalithaa by providing proper information to the people.
Jayalalithaa has been hospitalised in the Chennai Apollo Hospital since September 23 after she complained of fever and dehydration.

NEW DELHI: Asserting that the world has seen and acknowledged the valour of the Indian Army after it targeted terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) in a surgical strike, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday called on Islamabad to simply wait and watch for New Delhi's next move.
"Not just the nation, but the entire world has seen and acknowledged the example of courage and valour shown by our brave soldiers which has made India proud," Rajnath said on the sidelines of a Swachh Bharat event here.
When asked to react on Pakistan's claims that India has no proof of the existence of the surgical strike, Rajnath said "bas dekhte jaiye (just wait and watch)".
However, the Pakistan army has dismissed claims that India's military conducted "surgical strikes" against "terrorist units" on its side of the border in Kashmir region.
Pakistan rejected the claims as an "illusion" but acknowledged the loss of two of its soldiers in the exchange of fire that also wounded nine others on Thursday.
"There had been cross border fire initiated and conducted by India which is [an] existential phenomenon," said an Inter-Services Public Relations statement released shortly after the Indian director-general of military operations held a press conference making claims about surgical strikes.
"The notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists' bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by India to create false effects," the Pakistani military said in a statement.
"This quest by Indian establishment to create media hype by rebranding cross border fire as surgical strike is fabrication of truth."
Yesterday, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar asserted that Pakistan has been left shell-shocked by the "surgical strikes" carried out by Indian Special Forces, adding that it was unable to realize how and when the Indian commandos sneaked into PoK to complete the mission.

Aloor's revelations will be probed: DGP Behera
Thiruvananthapuram:Kerala DGP Loknath Behre said here on Sunday that the revelations by Soumya case accused Govindachami's counsel Adv B A Aloor will be examined. The DGP was reacting to Aloor's statement that he took up the after a drug mafia active in Mumbai approached him.
The DGP said that the issue is being viewed seriously and Govindachami's links with drug mafia will be examined. The Human Rights panel too sought scrutiny of Govindachami's financial dealings. The DGP said he would proceed to inspect the case after getting the necessary order
Aloor said Govindachami's sole intention was robbery. He also claimed that the evidences pertaining to rape against the accused have been forged by the police.
The people who approached him for vakalat were involved in many drug cases in Mumbai and that they include Thamil Nadu natives. The group is based at Panvel in Mumbai.
The revelations of Aloor comes 5 years after Soumya's death. Many persons accused in drug cases were from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala, Aloor revealed.

Guruvayur legislator calls for airstrip for the temple town
Thiruvandapuram: With more VIPs from far and wide visiting the famed Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple, the temple town is in need of an airstrip, and with various investment options available, this could soon become a reality, according to a local legislator.
Speaking to IANS, Guruvayur legislator K.V Abdul Khader said a few years ago a team of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials had visited a few places in the area.
"Land is a problem here of an airport and it has now dawned that only an airstrip can be a viable proposition. for that, around 15 to 20 acres of land is all that's required, "said Khader, a three-time CPI-M legislator from Guruvayur.
Over the years, the name and fame of the temple has spread far and it has become one of the most important places of worship for Hindus.
Among those who now frequently visit the temple are national leaders as also top political personalities from Sri Lanka.
"Today with more and more VIP visits, traffic gets choked as most of them either fly to Kochi airport and then arrive to the temple town by road. A14 acres' plot of land belonging to the temple is at present lying unused. This could be ideal for the airstrip." said Khader.
Kerala has the best air connectivity in the country with three international airports and a fourth one in Kannur getting ready. Devotees arriving at any of these airports would be able to reach the temple town in under 90 minutes by a small aircraft or a helicopter if Guruvayur gets an air strip, Khader said.
"Today there are various modes of investment options available and funds for making an air strip can easily be worked out," added Khader.

Anoop Jacob shifted to hospital
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anoop Jacob, one of the three MLAs who are fasting in front of the Secretariat, demanding a roll back in self-financing college fee, was today shifted to hospital, after his health deteriorated. He was taken to hospital in ambulance at around 4 pm after a doctor visited him and examined his health condition.
In the examination, it was found that the Bilirubin content in his blood sample had dipped. Anoop along with Hibi Eden and Shafi Parambil had started indefinite fasting four days ago. Two MLAs are continuing their fast. Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala had visited the MLAS in the morning.

Ban on Media at courts: Governor should intervene, says Sudheeran
ALAPPUZHA: KPCC president V M Sudheeran has requested the Governor to intervene in the incident at Kerala High Court in which media men were threatened and hounded away from its premises recently.
“The lawyers are acting like goons towards media persons. The incident that took place recently at the high court had shocked Kerala. The government’s silence and irresponsibility have been an impetus to the lawyers to block media persons and threaten them. Action should be taken against lawyers who show criminal behaviour, The government should urgently step in to restore media freedom,” he said.
Blaming the government for above incidents, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said the Opposition would not allow the government to kill press freedom.
