Aditya Varma to represent Travancore royal family


NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Wednesday rejected amicus curiae Gopal Subramanyam’s directive to appoint Aditya Varma as the CEO of the Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

The court rejected it as the royal family was against it. Instead the bench chaired by Justice R M Lodha approved the instruction to appoint him as the representative of the Travancore royal family.

The court directed the government and the royal family to clean the Padmatheertham which is in a deplorable state within a month. Steps should be taken to strengthen the vaults of the temple. The court has asked to complete the evaluation of the riches containing in the vaults.
