First phase of smart city in two years: Chandy



NEDUMBASSERY: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the first phase of the much awaited SmartCity project here will be completed in two years. Addressing a workshop on the project at here, he admitted that there were some lapses on the part of the state government in implementing the project and it was expecting that all hurdles in this regard would be crossed smoothly. Extending all support to the Rs 2000 crore project, the chief minister said all efforts would be made to get environmental clearance for the same within 45 days after receiving the request in this regard. Stating that there were certain anguish over road and electricity, Chandy expressed the confidence that all concerns in this regard would be cleared within one month, and a detailed study in this regard was going on.
