P C George apologizes for derogatory remarks

TTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Whip P C George apologized for making derogatory remarks against opposition MLAs. George told the assembly that he didn’t mean to insult anybody and it came unexpectedly.

Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan through submission said that if he refuses to apologize, action should be taken against him.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that he cannot believe that George has called them ‘beggars’. If he has done it, then it is absolutely wrong and asked activists to limit words.

Expressing dissatisfaction in his reply, the opposition shouted slogans seeking action against George.
