KSU pours engine oil on higher secondary director


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSU activists poured engine oil on the body of the director of higher secondary in protest against the rise in fees of plus two courses.

Almost ten activists led by KSU district secretary Sippy Noorudeen poured oil on the body of the director Kesavendra Kumar after sieging him at his office at 3 pm. A verbal dispute occurred when the office employees tried to lead them outside. The police arrested and removed them from the spot. The KSU has expelled Sippy Noorudeen in connection with the incident.

Sippy Noorudeen and seven other KSU activists— Sreelal, Vignesh, Shanuraz, Sadique, Abinas, Anzar, Shameem—were remanded to 14 days by the Thiruvananthapuram Judicial Magistrate.

The director said that he will lodge a complaint to the DGP and the chief secretary on the incident.

Minister P K Abdurabb said that he will respond after studying the matter.

Meantime, youth congress state president P C Vishnunath termed it as a ‘barbaric act’. He asked the state leadership to take action against the culprits.
