June 08, 2011: The Kerala High Court has today directed the CPM leader MV Jayarajan to appear in person in connection with the contempt of Court case charged against him. Jayarajan has been asked to appear before Court on June 10.Jayarajan had requested the court to exempt him from appearing in the court till June 24. The Court opined that the Jayarajan’s outburst against the Judges was defiance against the Court proceedings.
Jayarajan while speaking at a public meeting in July at Kannur criticized High Court Judges for ruling that no public meetings should be held on roads.
