Thursday, July 14, 2011: Three scribes including a cameraman and a reporter of Asianet News channel were attacked by a group of persons at the LMS compound of the CSI Church in Palayam in two separate incidents on Thursday. Reporter Sarath Krishnan and cameraman Ayyappan were attacked when they reached LMS compound to cover a group of protestors who were there to meet the Bishop and hand over a complaint regarding irregularities in admissions made to the Karakkonam medical college.
The offenders snatched the camera and took away the DV cassette.
As a protest against this incident several journalists under the KUWJ took out a march to the LMS compound which turned violent after they clashed with the police.

The police resorted to minor lathicharge in which Indiavision channel bureau chief Marshal V Sebastian sustain injuries to his head.

ഞാൻ csi സ്കൂളിലാണ് പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. ഞങ്ങൾ കലാദ്ധ്യാപകർ 47 പേരുണ്ട് ചിത്രകലയ്ക്കു മാത്രമായി 7 പേർ.എല്ലാ ജാതിക്കാരും ഉണ്ട്. നക്സലൈറ്റുകൾ വരെ അദ്ധ്യാപകരായുണ്ട്. ഇത് മാനേജ് മെന്റിനറിയുകയും ചെയ്യാം. തീരെ മോശമല്ലാത്ത ശമ്പളം തരുന്നുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ അവർക്ക് കിട്ടുന്ന വരുമാനം ഈ ഇനത്തിൽ വളരെ വലുതാണ്.അത് മറ്റൊരു കാര്യം.എന്നാൽ ഇടതുപക്ഷ സർക്കാർ അധികാരത്തിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ പോലും സ്കൂൾ തലത്തിലെങ്കിലും കലാപഠനം പുനസ്ഥാപിക്കുവാൻ തയ്യാറായിട്ടില്ലാത്തിടത്താണിത് എന്നു കാണണം.അവർ കുറേ നല്ല കാര്യങ്ങളും ചെയ്യുന്നുണ്ടെന്ന് പറയുകയാണ്. അവിടുത്തെ സ്കൂളുകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ വളരെ വലുതുമാണ്. ഞാൻ പഠിച്ച സ്കൂളുകളെയോർത്ത് ലജ്ജിക്കുന്നു. ചേർത്തല SN കോളേജിനേക്കാൾ എത്രയോ വലുതും സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ഉള്ളതാണ് ഞാൻ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സ്കൂളുകൾ എന്നത് അത്ഭുതത്തോടെയാണ് ഞാൻ നോക്കി കാണുന്നത്. ഒരു കാര്യം ഞാൻ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്നു പൊതുമേഖപോലെ തന്നെ സ്വകാര്യമേഖയും വളർന്നു വരേണ്ട സാഹചര്യം ഒരുക്കണമെന്ന്. ഇത് 2 കോൺഫെറൻസുകൾക്കു മുൻപ് ഒരു കരട് രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചർച്ചയിൽ ഞാൻ LCയിൽ പറഞ്ഞ വാചകമാണ്. അന്നും ശക്തമായ വിമർശനം എന്റെ നേരെ ഉണ്ടിയി. ഇപ്പോഴും അതിൽ ഞാൻ ഉറച്ച് തന്നെയാണ് നില്ക്കുന്നത്.പരിയാരത്തെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ പ്രശാന്ത് വായിച്ചില്ലേ...? അർ ആരെ തിരുത്തും..? ആർക്കതിന് ധാർമീകമായി അവകാശം...?
