Thursday, July 21, 2011: The State government and the Engineering managements on Thursday signed a formal agreement in connection with this year’s admissions to the self-financing engineering colleges. A seat-fee pact on a 50:50 seat-sharing basis with Rs. 35,000 as annual tuition fee for half the government seats and Rs.60, 000 for the other half was finalized between Government and Kerala Self-Financing Engineering College Managements’ Association here on Monday.
Managements were allowed to charge up to Rs. 99,000 as fee for the management seats along with a refundable deposit of Rs. 1.5 lakh. The fee in the NRI quota was Rs. 1.5 lakh. A special fee of Rs 25, 000 will be levied on both of these categories of seats.
