The wedding reception of Karthi Sivakumar and Ranjini will take place this evening at Hotel Le Royal Meridien at Guindy in Chennai. Grand arrangements are being made for the event.Karthi, the hot and happening hero of Tamil cinema, entered wedlock with Ranjini, in Coimbatore on Sunday. It is expected that Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and others will attend the reception today.
Coming from a family that believes in tradition, Karthi couldn’t have asked for a better marriage, for his wedding with Ranjini in Coimbatore on Sunday was a traditional affair which was filled with Tamil rituals.
It was Coimbatore’s first star wedding in a long time, and it lived up to all the hype - what with a grandly-decorated hall and stage, thousands of people thronging the venue, a huge posse of security men and the presence of stars, old and new.
Karthi's father and yesteryear actor Sivakumar, his brother and actor Suriya and his actor-wife, Jyothika welcomed the guests, which included actors of present and past. Security was tight in and around the venue, where large number of his fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of the actor
