No decision on raising Govt employees’ retirement age

Wednesday, February 15, 2012: The Cabinet meeting held today has not taken decision on raising the Govt employees’ retirement age.
UDF will discuss the issue and a final decision will be made after that. The cabinet will meet again tomorrow. The UDF government is planning to increase the retirement age of state government employees and teachers to 56.
A party meeting would be held on February 21 to discuss the issue in detail.
