Karat refuses to comment on Selvaraj’s resignation

Saturday, March 10, 2012: CPM general secretary Prakash Karat on Saturday refused to comment on the recent controversy over the resignation of R Selvaraj CPM MLA from Neyyattinkara.
While replying to a question raised by the mediapersons here today, Karat said he didn’t want to comment on the issue.
Selvaraj, who represented Neyyattinkara assembly segment in the district, had resigned from the House saying he was a victim of ‘factionalism’ in the party.
Announcing his resignation to reporters at Neyyattinkara Selvaraj said he was “forced” to take the decision after realising that he would not get “any justice or protection” from the party leadership
