Pinarayi alleges conspiracy behind MLA’s resignation

Friday, March 09, 2012: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today alleged that the resignation of R Selvaraj, CPM MLA of Neyyattinakara, was the result of a political conspiracy.
Addressing the presspersons here on Friday, Pinarayi alleged that the UDF had wooed Selvaraj, which resulted in his resignation. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had a part to play in this conspiracy, he alleged.
Meanwhile Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan alleged that R Selvaraj had met Chief Minister Oommen Chandy early Friday morning. VS alleged that Selvaraj met the chief minister this morning before submitting his resignation.
‘There is a conspiracy to defeat the CPI (M) in the Piravom bypoll for which the UDF is using money power,’ he added.
