THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The hidden cameras from Kozhikode jail were not removed at the behest of the State Human Rights Commission. Former home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and jail former DGP Alexander Jacob had alleged that the cameras were removed as per the advice of the commission.
They said this when reports came that the accused in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case are leading a luxurious life in jail. The commission who shunned the allegations then reiterated their stand after examining the concerned files.
Such statements should not be made without investigating the facts, the commission pointed out. The report submitted by jail chief T P Senkumar has claimed that the commission had not asked to remove the cameras.
