George’s here again to rake up controversies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress leader P C George has said that the UDF has faltered in its campaign for the Lok Sabha election. George who had been conspicuous by his silence for weeks leading to the election, has finally resumed his firebrand role.

He told a TV channel on Friday that there were several problems in the LDF campaign. Pathanamthitta UDF candidate Anto Antony was a person who stood for Aranmula airport from the beginning till end. The Congress should not have made such a mean person a candidate. “Anto played his part well to keep me off the campaigns and the Congress leaders’ demeanours were sort of insult to me… The after-effect of this would reflect in the election result of next Poonjar assembly constituency, which is represented by me,” he said.

George also pointed out that in Wayanad, the people were not in favour of M A Shanvaz.
