ALAPPUZHA: Police have revealed that the accident that happened recently near Thuravoor in which two painting workers who were travelling on a bike were killed was a case of murder.
Andhakaranazhi native Subin (27) and pillion rider Johnson were the persons who had died in the accident. Police said they were killed by persons who had some past personal animosity towards the duo. The lorry driver, Thumbi Shibu, is said to have confessed to the crime.
The incident happened 11 kilometre away from Kanichukulangara at Ottamasseri. Though the lorry sped away after knocking down the bike, the locals and police intercepted the lorry after chasing about eight kilometres.
On the accident day, Subin and Johnson were returning home after work. The lorry rammed the rear side of the bike, throwing the bike travellers off the road. Both had sustained severe head injuries in the accident. Though they were rushed to Cherthala Taluk hospital, both succumbed to their injuries.
