Corporation councilors sworn in

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The newly elected 100 councilors of the city corporation here were sworn in on Thursday. The eldest member BJP's Dr V Vijayalakshmi administered the oath to other members. She took the oath from District Collector Biju Prabhakar. The members of three-tier panchayats, municipalities and corporations in the state were sworn in. In a circular, election commission informed that members who are unable to swear in should do so before the president/chairperson/mayor within 30 days of their election, failing which they will lose their membership. Election to the posts of municipal corporation chairman and corporation mayor will be held on November 18 through ballet. The presidents of three-tier panchayats will be elected on November 19.
