THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet Wednesday decided to appoint Prayar Gopalakrishnan, former MLA and chairman of the Corporation for the Welfare of Forward Communities, as the president of the Travancore Devaswom Board. He will replace M P Govindan Nair. Congress leader and KPCC spokesperson Ajay Tharayil has been appointed as a member of the board.
Prayar started his political career through KSU. He was the Kollam district president of KSU and youth congress. He is presently an executive member of the KPCC. He was elected to the assembly from Chadayamangalam in 2001-06.
