THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan Friday asked to reject the quick verification report of the vigilance against Excise Minister K Babu in the bar bribery case. The probe was conducted by a corrupted official in order to save Babu, VS said in a statement.
The home department has made the probe against Minister Babu a farce. The allegation that bribe was given to a minister at his office should be probed by a unit having full authority. Instead of that a corrupted official was given the charge in order to save the minister. Any reasonable person will understand it. The report of M N Ramesh, who conducted the probe in Babu’s case should be rejected, he said in the statement.
