THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cultural Minister A K Balan has said there is no need to drag CPM into allegations raised against Binoy Kodiyeri. “Don’t isolate Kodiyeri due to this issue. For the wrongs done by party leaders’ sons, it is not right to crucify party leaders,” minister A K Balan responded.
Balan also commented on the controversial cartoon. “The government has not interfered in the decision taken for publishing the cartoon. This is part of the agenda to humiliate the government using a section of government employees. Though Lalitha Kala Akademy is under the government, some employees don’t have that feeling,” he said.
Balan said that the Akademy is governed by law. “The government will watch further actions taken by it in this regard. It was not the government that said religious symbols are used in the bad light. It was said by those who were annoyed by the cartoon. The government ordered probe as allegations were raised against the cartoon,” he said.
