THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 75-year-old-woman was killed after hit by a KSRTC bus when she was crossing the road. The dead has been identified as Rukkiya Beevi of Nedumangad.
The accident happened near the Nandavanam Library Friday morning. Though she was rushed to medical college hospital, her life could not be saved.
The incident happened when she was on her way to the mosque. The traffic police has taken the bus into custody.

KOTTAYAM: A 31-year-old woman was killed and three others injured in an accident that occurred near the Kottayam Medical College hospital on Tuesday. According to the police, the incident occurred when a private service bus that was parked on a slanted platform at the bus station at Gandhi Nagar moved and hit passengers who stood nearby. There was no one in the bus. The dead has been identified as Resmi (31) of Puthuparambil house in Panamattom near Ponkunnam. She succumbed to her injuries after being run over by the bus. However, her sons, aged seven years and six-months-old, who were with her at the time of the incident, escaped miraculously.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thresiamma, 75, died after the car driven by her son overturned on applying sudden brakes, at Akkulam on Monday. They were from Kanyakumari and were travelling back from Kochi when the accident took place. Thresiamma’s daughter-in-law and granddaughter, also in the car were admitted to the Medical College Hospital with minor injuries, sources said.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 45-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road near Kulathoor, Kunjalumoodu. The accident occurred around 7.50 pm when Lailaja of Kulathoor SN Nagar, was walking along the road with her mother and daughter. Although she was rushed to the Medical College Hospital, she could not be saved, the police said. The other two sustained only minor injuries, the police said.

ALAPPUZHA: A 75-year-old woman died as a lorry hit her while she was standing in front of her house in the National Highway in Purakkad panchayat. The police identified the woman as Thankamma, wife of Bharghavan of Kunnasserry in Puthennada in Purakkad grama panchayat. The lorry, which had lost its control, hit her when she was standing in front of her house at 6 am on Sunday. She was admitted to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital (MCH) and later to Kottayam MCH, but succumbed to her injuries by around 2 pm on Sunday. Ambalappuzha police has registered a case in this regard.
