BJP tried to insult us, says NSS

KOTTAYAM: The NSS has come forward with harsh criticisms against the BJP. Services, the organization’s bi-weekly said the party tried to insult their leadership. The editorial said they are not for any alliance with the BJP. The weekly condemned the party’s attempt to make a deal with the NSS.

The editorial said they have not sought any time to hold talks with the NSS leadership. The alliance between the SNDP and the BJP in the local body polls was a failure. If the BJP had contested alone, they would have attained more seats. The equidistance taken by the NSS in the polls has proved to be right, the editorial said.

Chennithala has crossed all limits, says NSS

PERUNNA: Mannath Padmanabhan, who established the NSS, has never sought the help of political parties, said its general secretary G Sukumaran Nair. Instead they have sought our help, he said in a statement.

Nair said they have never heard about Chennithala’s statement that the congress had rejected the demand of Mannath Padmanabhan seeking party status for Maleth Gopinath Pillai. Such an incident has never happened at all and the attempt of Chennithala to make use of it is crossing all limits.

Chandy intolerant of Chennithala’s entry, says NSS

PERUNNA: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair came to the forefront harshly criticizing Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Nair said Chandy is intolerant on the entry of KPCC chief Ramesh Chennithala into the cabinet.

While talking at the budget presentation of NSS, he said the reason for the crisis in the UDF is this intolerance of the chief minister.

Nair said the congress state leadership broke the deal made with the NSS during election time. A deal was made after late congress leader Vilasrao Deshmukh arrived at the NSS headquarters.

The NSS also decided to initiate legal proceedings against Chandrika for publishing an article criticizing the organisation and its general secretary. The resolution presented said the reply of the daily was not satisfactory.

Nair presented a budget of Rs 105 crores after offering floral tributes to the   samadhi mandapam of its founder leader Mannathu Padmanabhan. NSS president P N Narendranathan presided over the function.

I know those behind editorial, says NSS

KOYYAYAM: Those behind the editorial against the NSS published in the mouthpiece of the Muslim League and the aim of it is very well known, said its general secretary G Sukumaran Nair.

League’s act shows their indecency and there is no need to respond to it, he said. Those criticizing the NSS will never be pardoned.

The Nair community should face such incidents wisely, he said.

Honeymoon is over, says NSS

The honeymoon is over. It was only just a hundred days back that the chief minister Oommen Chandy was invited, and honoured by the Nair Service Society (NSS). However, the issue of the fifth cabinet berth for UDF partner Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and the way the chief minister handled the issue has vitiated the relationship ‘beyond repair’ as sources close to the leadership put it.

The NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair on Thursday told  that the prescription followed as a remedy to the imbalance created by the induction of fifth IUML minister, i.e. the revamp of the portfolio of Congress (I) ministers, was worse than the problem itself, before dismissing it as “just political jugglery.” “So far, the problems in the UDF had not affected the administration, but with the juggling of the portfolios, the administration too has been dragged into the controversy” he said.
