Assembly polls: Political leaders sound confident


Leaders across all political parties sounded confident as polling for the state assembly started. Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan opined LDF would restore power with a good majority.


Situation favourable for UDF in State: Antony

Union Defence minister and Senior Congress leader AK Antony claimed the electorate of the state would register their vote for a change. Speaking to the media after casting his vote here, Antony said the response from the voters across the state during campaigning and the huge turn around witnessed so far are positive signals. “UDF would have a thumping victory this time” - he said.

Pinrai Vijayan sees record win for LDF

The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will achieve record victory in the assembly elections, said CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.

Talking to mediapersons after casting his vote at Pinarayi, the CPM State secretary claimed LDF would get the majority to rule. The trend shows that people had accepted the welfare-oriented programmes and the development activities undertaken by the CPM-led Left Democratic Front government in the State, Pinarayi Vijayan said.
